Whenever I get sick of the hustle and bustle of the modern city, I go down to the Dubai Creek where the old city and its legendary trading route are located. I love walking through the old Souq (market place) – it just takes you back in time. You can see old forts, all sorts of tiny shops selling everything from garments to spices, hundreds of tourists and many places of worship. What is amazing about Dubai is how tolerant it is towards other religions. There will be a Mosque on one side and a Temple on the other. On one of my many walks here I stumbled upon this beautiful Mosque. It has Persian influence, as the market place has been dominated by mainly Iranian and Indian tradesmen for over a century.
